A question...

I have a general question for some of you more experienced spinners. I am just looking for a ballpark number nothing exact. How many yards of laceweight can I expect to get per ounce of roving? I know it will vary but I want to be able to have an idea of what I'll get at the end.

Hi Hattie, I'm a beginning spinner as well. Started this May. Last night I finished my first 4 oz of roving and I've got 530 yds out of it. My very best so far. I measured the yarn after 2-plying it. Would like to know what other can do with that amount as well. ;o)

Awesome, thanks!

I've got 4 ounces too so that's what I was wondering...So if I didn't ply it would be more. I guess it depends on how thin I can get it.
