Practice?

I decided that I should do a practice run with my new flyer and bobbins, before spinning my very limited quantity (4 oz dyed to order, no chance to match lots) of merino/tencel roving. I dug through my fiber stash and found 3 oz of Corriedale roving I dyed several months ago.

I wound up with about 500 yards of very fine, fairly even laceweight (it's soaking now, haven't measured WPI yet). I will make a Swallowtail Shawl with this. I love the high speed flyer and fat core bobbins for fine spinning.


I am planning to spin the merino/tencel next. I'm hoping to get enough yardage for a bigger shawl or stole. Off to pre-draft....
