Singles Ready!
The 2nd skein of yarn is now finished to join the first :) I now have 6.8 ounces of yarn, approximately 950 yards with which I plan to cast on for the Wing o the Moth. You can just see the sparkle of angelina fiber in the photo - it's terribly difficult to capture, I'm hoping I manage to capture it in the finished work. The difference you see in the yarns is due to the fact that the smaller skein is spun from a carded batt, while the larger skein was spun from the exact same fibers handblended at the wheel.

Nice yarn...Interesting the way the colors worked out. Looking forward to seeing it knit up.
That yarn looks beautiful... can't wait to see the finished project!
Beautiful looking yarn, can you use singles like that for a shawl, without plying them? I can't wait to see pictures of your shawl when you start it.
I have knit lace before out of singles - with no problem. I am not to the point where I can spin cobweb weight singles in order to ply into a 2-ply lace weight yarn - I'll swatch and see what happens - this yarn has relatively low twist, and the skein hardly twisted at all on itself after I set the twist, so I don't anticipate any problems.
Really beautiful yarn, Stephanie. That should make a lovely Wing O the Moth. I'm looking forward to seeing it.
