There were some very lovely shawls featured in Spin Off's Spring handspun shawl gallery - and I'm honored to be among them!
I've been knitting on some lace, but these are from commercially spun yarns - this issue (along with all the gorgeous projects here) is starting up my urge to spin for another lace project!
Congrats again to Jane - I believe your Legends of the Sea was the teaser in the table of contents!

I really liked your "Moth" shawl. The colors were terrific though the pictures did not really pick up the holographic fibers in your shawl. I bet it is spectacular in the sunlight :-) Congratulations on having your shawl in the gallery!

I thought all the shawls featured were just gorgeous, beautiful.
I am curious though - I never new you could actually knit with the singles - I would love to do that - I know it is not as strong as a 2-ply lace / fingering weight yarn but could be spun a bit tighter -
right?

I have problems spinning fine enough to make singles to allow me to ply for lace - I've knit a couple lace projects with singles, and haven't had any issues - and I block my shawls mercilessly. I don't think the twists were too terribly tight on these singles either, as the skein barely twisted on itself as it was set....
then again, I probably do a lot of things that are against conventional wisdom...the first fiber I learned to spin on was merino :) So unlike many other spinners, I seem to have issues spinning with longwools...
