Spring Things Shawl

Here is a photo of the Spring Things Shawl. I spun this yarn from some super soft merino top, that I purchased from handpaintedyarn.com. It spun like a dream, so I left it as singles and made this shawl. I love love love it, but I could have made it just a tad larger.

Kimono Cardigan Wrap Progress

Here is an update on the Kimono Cardigan Wrap (KAL). This is the completed back panel, the largest part of the project. Handspun alpaca and merino blended yarn, also stripped dyed. You can see at the very top where I added more dye to the bath of the third skien because alpaca is stubborn in obsorbing dye...so it will have a darker collar. Neato!

Does this Clash with 1970?

Okay...tell me honestly...is this clashing?! It's trippin me out man!

This is some of my handspun, hand-dyed, Targee yarn for the latest in the Mystery Shawl KAL. I hope, as the shawl gets bigger, that the colors will tend to puddle together instead of stripe. EEP! It's oober soft and warm!

WOM Update

Hi, All. Happy Labor Day Weekend. I'm been busier than a one-armed paper hanger. Anyway, I thought I'd flash my progress on the shawl. Sorry about the BAD photos.

This is the second go-around with this shawl. I was about this far and just didn't like one of the design elements of it. So, I ripped it out and have caught back up.


Where the green pin is located is the line I changed the shawl design just a smidge. I really didn't like the 2 YO's on either side of the center stitch line, so I have been just Making one one either side and I like it better. Hope I can work on it this weekend a little more.

Blending madness!

I've been carding away on my new spinning toy, the drum carder. I created this batt for a video tutorial on How to Use a Drum Carder and here is ther resulting yarn and test knitting of it into a mitered square. The other two colors are also some of my own spun yarns. Click the photos for larger versions.
